*Gomen for my slow response. I should have sent this out yesterday, but I was a little too slow in my translation of the Japanese news.(I get my information directly from the source)
It was confirmed just yesterday, on October 30th, that Morning Musume will be preforming during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. Morning Musume will be singing the official support song for the Japanese national team when they begin competing.
The girls are also the ambassadors of the “Nippon! Call Project”, which was created to cheer for the Japanese national team. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this project, it is basically a huge group of encouraging messages written for the Japanese national team. You can submit these through an app, and the Nippon! group will gather them all together and make an amazing flame marking. I don’t know exactly what it will look like- it could be “炎” literally, or it could be a visual flame effect. Either way, I suspect we are in for an amazing performance!
As always, Morning Musume was humble whilst receiving this great honor. Group leader Michishige had excited remarked that, “I was surprised at this important task and felt a little worried, but it is amazing to be able to sing the support song. I feel that we need to do our best.”
Rest assured, Morning Musume’s Olympic appearance will go off without a hitch.
